Who We Are

Built From
The Field Up.

Nomad Enterprises isn't a company that started in an office. It was built by a man who spent his twenties living out of a duffel bag — guiding wilderness rivers in Alaska, operating commercial brine shrimp harvest vessels on the Great Salt Lake, and spending winters buying homes in historic Salt Lake neighborhoods like the Avenues and Sugarhouse, gutting and renovating them while skiing Utah powder between job sites. The name Nomad wasn't a brand decision. It was a description.

The Founder

Coby Reid

Coby Reid earned his Mining Engineering degree from the University of Utah with one foot always out the door — squeezing semesters around summers guiding wilderness rivers in Alaska, navigating guided mountaineering expeditions on Denali, and running commercial brine shrimp harvest vessels on the Great Salt Lake. He never stopped moving.

Back in Utah, he built. Custom homes. Mountain retreats. High-end remodels. Projects that demanded precision, problem-solving, and the ability to execute without anyone telling you what to do next.

For nearly a decade this was the rhythm — Alaska summers on the water and in the mountains, Utah winters buying, gutting, and renovating homes in the Avenues and Sugarhouse, skiing powder between job sites. A true nomad by trade and by choice.

The Company

Nomad Enterprises

When the contracting work grew large enough to demand full-time attention, Coby put down roots in Salt Lake City and built Nomad Enterprises into a full-service general contracting firm. He has held a Utah GC license since 1998 — nearly three decades of continuous licensure and field work.

That combination — the technical foundation of a mining engineer, the logistics instincts of a backcountry operator, and 28 years of hands-on build experience — produces something rare: a contractor who can read terrain, engineer solutions on the fly, and hold a job together under conditions most builders won't step into.

The projects in this portfolio span nearly three decades of work across Utah's Wasatch Front, Emigration Canyon, and the surrounding mountain communities. Every one of them was built the same way: full accountability, clear communication, and craftsmanship that holds up long after the job is done.
